LUDHIANA: After the fun-filled Raahgiri Day two weeks back, enthusiasts were back for yet another experience, this time more determined to get that adrenaline gush in their bodies. But every Raahgir at the event was found humming a new tune today, dancing to different beats and following a different path. So besides the regular cycle events, the zumba dance, and a few more events here and there, the day has emerged as a platform for several budding artists in the city.

The event was held at Kipps Market in Sarabha Nagar. The last event saw some school kids play and perform at the event. This time, however, they were present as a band. And there were new entrants too. Young boys and girls performing hip-hop dance, taekwondo; students from the city practicing with music, calling for volunteers from the crowd and teaching them basic self-defense techniques, to name a few. And the day sure did some preaching too. The slow cycle race was just as successful as it was the last time with the cycle-pro's hardly making it to the top. Lesson number two, an addition to the last event was the sack race that surely left quite a few injured. But such was the zeal to make it to the finishing line, that kids would get back, wipe the dirt and hop-hop again.
The 9-year-old Diya Kapoor from Gurdev Nagar performed a hip-hop dance to the song, 'in aakhon ki masti'. Another young dance troupe of 8 members presented a medley in hip-hop and freestyle dancing. Zumba like always was the show stealer with the entire crowd going crazy as Gautam Sharma, a zumba expert from the city taught them a few dance moves. And just when the crowd was tired of this workout session, masala bhangra pulled them back.
